Chen,Ye：The Chinese government must take the environmental pollution problem seriously

In China many people don’t pay attention to keep sanitation, and litter is a very common phenomenon. However, they never think about our living space is getting smaller; huge amounts of rubbish occupy land, block up lakes and rivers in many places in China; the trash is not only hazardous to health and visual blight, not also jeopardize crop growth and human health.
Industrial waste and domestic garbage are two sources of garbage. At present, the Chinese government is energetically developing the economy, which generates huge amounts of industrial wastes during the industrial production and processing process, such as: coal gangue, fly ash, slag, blast furnace slag, red mud, plastic and petro-chemical waste residue, etc. Owing to the lack of environmental protection by the government, unprocessed industrial wastes are getting more and more. For all cities in China, as a result of the growing population, the growth rate of domestic garbage is remarkable, in addition to the lack of government management; domestic garbage has become a big public disaster of environmental pollution.
Massive garbage has severe damages, occupying land, polluting farmland, contaminating underground water, and polluting air. The organic materials in the industrial wastes pollute the air and communicate diseases through fetor generated by biological decomposition. In areas where environmental pollution are serious, the vegetables and fruits will cause infections, and directly jeopardize people’s body and health. We call on the Chinese government to emphases environmental protection while paying attention to the economic growth.
