Zheng, Caitong: The deficient Chinese structure lead to distribution inequality
郑才同(Zheng,Caitong)
In recent years, the rich is increasing rapidly in China. Among these so-called rich, a majority of them doesn’t acquire wealth legally, but speculate to become rich by relying on the deficient social structure existed in China.
Due to the guidance ideology of “letting some people prosper before others” brought up by the Chinese government at the beginning of reform and open up, the government was trying to invigorate the economy and improve economic efficiency, the legal supervision on economy was loosened which indulged the distribution injustice to last for a long time; it also caused the expanding income gap. Thus it can be seen that this efficiency-oriented, equality-despised conscience of authority and imbalance of income distribution system make some people to acquire wealth quickly by speculating the deficient government policies, and this is the main reason of the excessive income gap at the present stage in China.
The deficient social structure not only caused unequal distribution, but also the spread of corruption in the whole society. The social structure is undemocratic, unequal, and injustice, government’s power lacks checks and balances which transformed power to the protective umbrella of unequal income. Government officials take advantage of their power to conduct illegal money-power transactions, and provide unequal competition environment for speculators. The power-money deals have become the main source of government officials’ grey income which aggravate the unequal income distribution situation.
