Wang,Yana: Implementing democratic election is extremely urgent in China
王娅娜(Wang,Yana)
Recently, party organizations within have intense discussions over Xi,Jinping assumed the office of Vice Chairman of the Central Military Commission. Xi's smooth promotion makes us question: “Why China doesn’t have democratic election?” “How should Chinese people realize the right to vote?”
CPC government has been following the line of petticoat influence since the foundation. Even the dog swaggers when its master wins favor! Over the years, the integrated government slowly fell apart and shaped to small groups. Or even fight openly and snipe in the dark for power and money. The internal strife and lack of unity by higher authorities ultimately lead to unstable and unharmonious life of common people.
Take Xi,Jinping for example, since his nomination of the Secretary of Shanghai Municipal Committee in 2007, the city’s development seems pretty good on the surface but people live in an abyss of misery. As a Shanghai native, I have keen sense of that. The “Better city, better life” World Expo makes people’s life worse. Years of road repair jammed roads and brought too much trouble to Shanghai natives. Outsiders feel it’s a good timing for Shanghai to earn recognition and gain profits, they barely seem to realize that the central government didn’t pay anything for the infrastructure construction, Shanghai government burdened all costs. Thus the natives suffer again. Prices of daily supplies and public transportation have been raised several times…… With all these said, one phenomenon appeared: Factional struggles within the party eventually result in heavier pressures for common people. Xi’s nomination is a vivid display of the struggle between “Shang gang” and “Beijing bang”. After his election, Shanghai became an “evil city”. Daily stress made people suffer unspeakably but they have nowhere to appeal.
Imagine if a democratic election could be established in China, those things are avoidable. As the saying goes, the masses have sharp eyes. If higher levels of government are elected by people themselves, factional struggles will reduce greatly. No more “senior authority”, and no hiding the truth from the masses. Leaders elected by people are supervised by people and they have consciousness to do practical things in the interest of the masses.
Execution of democratic election is extremely urgent in China. It’s time to get rid of those leaders who get money by sitting around. Chinese government needs a virtuous circle, a democratic system, and an equal election.
As one of the young generation, we should fight for the democratic progress in China. Democracy relies on action rather than saying, a democratic society can only be achieved when everyone has spontaneity, consciousness, and initiative. It’s not easy to have democracy in China now. I strongly believe that as long as everyone takes responsibility for “achieving democracy”, China will head to democracy in the near future and the one-party government will be abolished!
