Hou,Sujuan: Appealing for Chinese government to emphasize education reform
侯素娟(Hou,Sujuan)
In terms of training of bright people, the majority has similar view which is emphasis of education. Chinese society has a popular saying that “It takes ten years to grow trees, but a hundred years to rear people”, meaning training of talented is a long process which has to be achieved by education; Education is the lifeline for the healthy development of country, and the basis for reviving the economy.
The current management style of education mainly relies on administrative management by government. With the development of economy, the deficiencies of this system are more obvious: the government has too many educational management institutes and personnel, lack of effective supervision for education officials, too many interventions on education administration, imbalanced distribution of limited education funds, all lead to the current education system doesn’t comply with the demands of social development.
For these problems, common people hopes their next generation can have better education though they have a tough life, their emphasis on education for next generation makes sure their children get good education.
Imbalance between rule of law and rule of man is a feature of Chinese society, which is the same in education field. I hereby call on the Chinese government to strictly enforce educational legislation so as to conform educational rules and policies to the direction of educational development, have the law to go by in aspects of policies, system, fund, personnel, infrastructure, and management, completely eradicate educational corruption and expedite a healthy development of education.
