Sun,Yongwei: Chinese government have to strengthen protection of environment

Facts indicate that homeland of human beings, the earth we live on are experiencing huge damages: freshwater fishes are under the threat of extinction, coral reefs are deteriorating, lands are desertificated, lakes are polluted, and about half population have water supply difficulties…… We have to face all of these problems; protecting environment requires strict legislation and enforcement, mutual efforts of international community, and requires us to start from the little things right under our noses.
In recent years, environment in China is getting worse, as the rapid economic development which improved standard of living of the majority. However, in the short several decades, many “garbage cities” are emerged. Chinese government emphases economic development and ignores protection of environment. Many phenomena are shocking: industrial exhausts, waste water, and exhaust gas are randomly discharged, household garbage are randomly stacked.
We only have one earth, each of us live in the same environment, and our basic necessities of life are closely related to the environment. Look at flows of cars on the streets, exhausts from trails wave to the sky, we have to ask, will the sky continue be that blue? For ourselves, and for our next generation to have a good living environment, each of us is responsible for protecting the environment, and it’s imperative for the government to strengthen environment legislation.
