The reform and opening up facilitated economic development in China, for quite some time, China’s economic development rate has staying on the top, though the standard of living has been improved al lot, however, environment pollution is very serious. For now, China’s economic development and environment pollution are the prominent contradictions, and they inter-constrain.
The serious environment pollution is mainly due to false decision-making by Chinese government, after the reform and opening up, Chinese government pursued high speed of economic development one-sided, and ignored fund input for environment protection; government doesn’t emphases publicity of environment protection, and lead to a lack of environmental awareness of common people, and consciousness of taking part in environment protection is very low. Nowadays, some companies still don’t comply with environmental laws and discharge exhaust, waste water, solid wastes for economic interests.
Emphasizing environment protection is good for a healthy development for Chinese society, and benefits posterity. Chinese government must enhance environment protection laws to make people value environment protection.
