Gan,Ping: Officials under the democratic system can truly serve the people
干萍(Gan,Ping)
For now, the democratic system is a relatively rational social system, and can be accepted by most people in the world; the democratic system looks to have some loopholes, but is the most harsh, and cruel political system. Some people in Chinese government question the democratic system, they said, could it be said that democratic countries in western don’t have corruption? The answer is yes. Because even the most perfect social system cannot prevent corruption, just like any system cannot prevent a criminal from committing crimes.
The benefits of achieving a democratic system are: firstly, balance of power, the supervisory function of the media, civil rights to learn the truth, and the others, all of which can make corrupt officials look before they leap. Secondly, in the long run, people can be their own masters, any one, any party can’t take bribes and bend the law, or treat human life as grass, and has to put heart and soul into serving the public. The third is the government and officials are elected by voters and such government and officials have to serve the public; otherwise, people have rights to impeach inaction of a government and unqualified officials.
