Ma,Yan: Chinese leaders should take education seriously
马妍(Ma,Yan)
On August 9, 2010, American President Obama made a speech at the University of Texas, and pointed out that education is the gate to prosperity. He said more education outcomes have to be gained for U.S. to have a prosperous economy and compete on the international stage.
In regard to Chinese leaders, they should emphases education like U.S. Education not only spreads achievements of human civilization, but also let achievements to spread and expand healthily and harmoniously. The question now is Why Chinese education officials, schools, and teachers don’t understand one simple truth? They are still going their own way to cultivate so-called successors.
Chinese leaders must rethink profoundly the current direction of education, and provide a loose environment to Chinese education through policies, instead of complaining bad quality of education all the time, blaming low quality of faculties.
The current education policies in China constrain proper performance of students’ intellect and cultivation of special skills, and generate many students who have “high grades but low abilities”, severely strangle and ruin many men of possibilities. The truth verifies that reform of education system is imperative.
