Cui,Yushun : Calling on Chinese government to improve basic human rights of minority
崔玉顺(Cui,Yushun)
I am a Korean ethnic minority group from the northeast part in China, according to division of race by Chinese government, Korean belongs to the minority. For many years, Chinese government has claimed to take care of the production and life of minority people through policies. For example: give priority to the development of economy in minority districts, priority employment of ethnic groups, priority enrollment of ethnic students for schools, and so on.
What the truth turns out? The facts don’t conform to policies publicized by Chinese government, in residential areas where Korean minority live, Korean minority are often discriminated by Han ethnic officials, Korean ethnic now have the highest unemployment rate, lowest education level, and highest drop out of students.
Many of Korean ethnics don’t have a job, and most still have no stable and well-off life. The Chinese government doesn’t guarantee basic human rights of Korean ethnics. We Korean ethnics live overseas call on the Chinese government to treat Korean ethnics equally, demand the Chinese government to respect culture and lifestyle of Korean ethnics, develop economy in Korean minority areas, and let Korean ethnics enjoy rights of work, living, education, and freedom of speech.
