Zheng,Caitong: Guarantee freedom of rights institutionally
郑才同(Zheng,Caitong)
Though Chinese constitution has articles of freedom of rights, the legal provision is just empty talk, and freedom of rights on the constitution has never been realized in China, Chinese people haven’t enjoy freedom of rights for a long time.
The responsibility for lacking of freedom of speech doesn’t lie in the constitution but the Chinese government, because the Chinese government doesn’t allow people to have free speeches, it doesn’t take critics or suggestions from the people, instead, it oppresses and supervises people’s speeches which make people choke with silent fury, and that is the factor for the long-term unstable official-public conflicts.
Chinese government must open freedom of speech, which is the channel to truly solve people’s freedom of speech; to make this happen, reforming the social system is the first step, propelling democracy, freedom, human rights, and legal reform in China, gradually lifting the ban on political parties in Chinese society, carrying out multi-party democratic constitutionalism, only through these ways can guarantee freedom of speech institutionally in Chinese society.
