Chen,Longqing: Only an honest government will control corruption

The long-standing corruption in Chinese society from history to today all demonstrate one problem that corruption usually collides with power. Actually the appearance and spread of corruption is mainly due to the abuse of power, corruption is a manifestation of officials obtaining profits for themselves with their power.
A normal market economy has equality, justice, openness, exchange of equal values, denial of privileges, and no precarium of wealth by power. Why after the market economy, especially after the reform and open up, corruption in Chinese society happens on a large scale, and has the trend that is more serious.
The market economy in China allows power of government and officials to enter the market, due to the system which makes government power lacks legal restraints and supervision by the public, such power breaks the competition rules of fairness, justice, openness, equality, luring people to pursue money, adoring money worship; market activities commercialize everything, which makes some Chinese especially officials to commercialize personality, soul, and power, love of money is growing, “putting money above everything else” becomes a golden rule, which is the main factor that corruption spread in China. Honesty and corruption are incompatible, the truth shows: only an honest government can make officials no loopholes to take.
