Luo,Haiwen: Learn from CDP member Qin,Yongmin

CDP members conducted brave attempts for multi-party democratic constitutionalism in China, for the cause of Chinese people’s freedom, Democracy, human rights, CDP members have heroic spirit to face dictatorship, autocracy, prison, they advance wave upon wave without complaint or regret. Qin,Yongmin is such outstanding CDP member who deserves our respect.
Qin,Yongmin is a senior democratic fighter and important leader of CDP. He started democratic cause since the age of 16. Qin,Yongmin pursued democratic cause at great personal costs. In his life time, 22 years are spent in prison, that is nearly half of his main period in life. He is also one who suffers the longest prison time. He gave up his personal and family interests for democratic cause and national interest. Such sacrifice is very valuable in this aquisitive society. He once attended democratic wall movement in 1979, was committed “crime of counterrevolutionary propaganda and incitement” for eight years, reeducated through labor for two years for drafting “peace charter” in 1993, he was sentenced 12 years in prison for organizing CDP. He is finally released on Nov 29, 2010. Though he experienced three prison, he is determined and never give in.
Qin,Yongmin set a good example for us. We new CDP members should learn from him, support domestic CDP members with his actions, strongly protest CCP persecution of democratic personnel. Firstly, we should positively take part in studying democratic notions, and arm ourselves. Secondly, we should actively publicize democratic notions, enlighten more people, and maintain our legal rights. Furthermore, we should respond to the call of chairman Wang,Jun, donate to persecuted CDP members in China, and offer our love. We should support and help them, and contribute to democratic cause. Though each of us has small and limited strength, accumulated powers are unbeatable. Let us strive for freedom, democracy, legal system, human rights, equality, prosperity, and achieve a democratic China sooner.
