Wang,Jun: Effectiveness of anti-corruption relies on restrictions and supervision of power
王俊(Wang,Jun)
Chinese government mainly counts on two factors to against corruption: one is legal restriction and supervision; on the other hand, officials should be clean and discipline themselves, be honest and do things fairly. The masses judge officials by their words and actions. If officials say something and do something else, the masses won’t trust the government and officials.
As China has been carrying out one party autocracy and lacks effective supervision of opposing party, in fact power of officials are not to seek interests for the people but to serve political rights, or for the few. What should common people do? They have no power, and they can’t corrupt. However, common people have to bear huge burden brought by corrupt officials.
Chinese government repeatedly request officials to self-discipline themselves, officials only brag and don’t actually start from themselves, anti-corruption has no substantial effect. Only find reasons politically and let power of all officials restricted under the law, power of officials supervised by the people, thus anti-corruption can achieve ideal effect.
