Chen, Ye: There Is No Justice in China, Let Alone Law

I come from Guilin, China. The poem“Guilin’s mountains and rivers are the most beautiful” is well-known in China. For years, people are passionate about visiting Guilin. Guilin is the dream land for travelers. However, this beautiful place, where I was born and raised, is where my nightmare begins.
When I was in middle school, I wanted to become an artist. To realize my dream, I studied hard and participated in all kinds of extracurricular activities. However, in China, there had been a lack of civilization and the social morale had collapsed. The schools had become that way too. The respectful teachers were no longer the role models and they had a lavish life. I was raised by my parents to be an integrated man. In 2000, when I was in high school, some teachers did favors to those students coming from privileged families in students’ campaigns. In order to protect justice, I stood out and published articles of these vicious behaviors, to protect the integrity of school and fairness and justice. The nightmare began. I was beat by those teachers and students who cheated in the campaign and my vocal cord was hurt and eventually I lost my voice. My family and I hoped to punish those criminals and get justice through legal methods. However, there was no Law in China. The so-called Law was a game and it was not for the justice of people. I didn’t get any justice back and my family was threatened and terrified. Ever since then, I couldn’t speak or communicate by language. I was brutally hurt both mentally and physically.
The Chinese people hate educational corruption and want purity and teachers to be role models. But the hope and self-consciousness is far from enough. It is very easy to understand. Under the Chinese Communist Party’s dictatorship, there is no morality, consciousness, shame, but only pursuit of their own interests; there is no Law, credit or integrity. There is only hope for China and the Chinese people when the Chinese Communist Party’s dictatorhip is ended and the democratic China is built. This is why I joined the China Democracy Party.
