Shi, Lirong: Unfair System is the Reason of China’s Economic Disparity
石丽荣, (Shi, Lirong)
China’s disparity between cities and countries, among different areas and among different income groups is not the result of market’s fair competition. Whether or not he policy of “Let some people to be wealthy first” could be implemented successfully largely relied on the social system, not the market operations. Overnight wealth was certainly the result of abuse of power, not of fair and justified competition.
The prosperity of many cities in China is due to the taxes accrued from all the tax payers; the poverty of rural areas is due to the exploitation of dictatorship and the officials.
The ultimate cause of income disparity and the huge gap between the wealthy and the poor is the vicious social system. As a result, officials and unlawful businessmen became rich first, and most people remain poor. This has caused the extreme disparity between the rich and the poor, led to deep misunderstanding of officials and people and conflicts between them.
