Fan, Shuying: China Needs to be Ruled by Law
范淑英 (Fan, Shuying)
On one hand, the Chinese Communist Party talks about “democracy and freedom” to get away with the strong advocate from the Chinese people; but they are not applying democracy and freedom with various excuses. On the other hand, the Chinese Communist Party promotes ruling by Law, but in fact, it is ruled by the Party people, not by Law. In China, the Law doesn’t prevail; the officials have the call. And I have been through this. In 2000, when my son is in high school in China, he openly published an article to critize some school teachers for doing favors to privileged students in students’ campaign. The revenge was severe. He was beat and his vocal cord was hurt, and he still can’t speak normally as of today. There has been no justice on us.
Not only the Chinese people, but also the country, power and the officials should be regulated by Law. The biggest problem in China is that “power” and “officials” are not regulated by Law; all law and regulations don’t work on those officials and privileged ones, but are tools managing people.
There must be a political reform in China to establish the multi-party ruling system. The legislation, justice and administration must be separated so that power and officials can be regulated by Law and a constitutional country protecting human rights can be established.
