Wang, Weibing: The Chinese government must contribute for environmental protection

A factory’s goal is to increase the quantity of products, improve quality and economic benefits. Many factories have produced many kinds of products in pursuit of this goal. These factories have contricuted a lot for this country’s economical development. However, during the same time, they ignored the destruction on environment from gas, water and waste; and some factories even emit these “3 wastes” directly into natural environment. As of today, environmental pollution has become the biggest constraint on healthy development of China’s economy.
China is one of the world’s fastest developing yet polluted areas. The incomplete system and environmental policy are the roots of the deteriorating environment. The serious environmental pollution has made it more difficult to implementing environmental protection. As the government for a developed, populated country, the Chinese government should be a government shouldering the responsibilities for environmental protection.
We hope that the Chinese government reinforce the legislation of environmental protection, establish the scientific concept of environmental protection, promote the awareness of environmental protection, enhance the consciousness of environmental protection, effectively control the sources of environmental pollution and contribute for environmental protection.
