Many industrial corporations in China don’t have necessary safety protection methods. Thousands of workers work on manufacturing processes, parts assemblies and chemical processes without labor protection. Even in high-altitude operations and special production industries, there is a serious lack of labor protection. Many of them have gone through accidents and are injured both physically and mentally. Some manufacturing facilities don’t purchase insurance for workers for cost savings and the workers who are injured at work can’t be compensated and some of them are even laid off.

In addition, some regional government offices lower workers’ pay standard and exploit their benefits in order to maintain the competitive advantage of local industrial products. They only focus on financial development, on growth rather than on fairness, on efficiency rather than on labor protection. This has deprived Chinese workers their basic rights and trampled their basic human rights in the long-term.

I am a China Democracy Party member and I strongly protest Chinese government’s act that they disregard workers’ life and security and repress and torture workers; I request the Chinese government to improve the working conditions for manufacturing workers and provide secure working environment; I also ask the Chinese government to guard workers’ interests and protect their basic human rights.
