Zhang, Chunlong: Recall the heroes who died during June 4th demonstrations in 1989
张春龙(Zhang,Chunlong)
It is a special day today. I am standing among the group to commemorate the heroes who died during the June 4th demonstrations in 1989 and feeling the excitement from deep within. I am overexcited. I am teared up when party members are describing what they went through during the June 4th demonstrations in 1989. I can’t imagine how the Chinese government could deploy tanks and shoot unarmed students. These students only wished to eliminate bureaucratic corruption and build a wealthy China.
After 22 years, the dark side of China has been perfectly covered up. After the current educational reform, even a kindergarten child knows that he or she needs to flatter the supervisors. Even elementary children dream about making a fortune after becoming a government official, however, no one has told him/her that to be a government official is to be a public servant and that to be a government official is to serve the people. The Chinese communist government is leading money and power oriented society. Corruption and dark hell is everywhere. Government officials and corporations team up to buy in land at a low price and sell the houses at a high price. Many people have lost their homes and families. People have no place to go for justice. Some people can’ t afford to see a doctor and some people with no money have to stop taking medication and wait to die. A country should be people-oriented and focuses on building the country, however now everybody is concerned. There is no justice at all in China under the dictatorship of Chinese communist government.
Over the past 22 years, numerous people have been persecuted for building a democratic and free China. Many more Chinese are still working on this quietly. It is you, me, him/her and everybody who will realize democracy and liberty in China. It depends on China and friends from all over the world. I believe that justice is in everyone’s heart. I believe long live the heroes who died during the June 4th students’ demonstrations in 1989. I believe it is not a dream, but the future to realize democracy and liberty in China.
