Meng, Xianghong: The Chinese government should pay attention to environmental protection

For years, some local governments in China have connived with industrial companies at their environmental pollution. Some manufacturing companies openly emits pollutants and the environment protection and monitoring bureaus connive with these behaviors. Some polluting companies have been revealed, however they still keep polluting the environment. They seem to be privileged.
Under the rushing pursuit of GDP, the Chinese government have entered the zone of ignoring environment and the side effects of it. In order to attract investment and returns, some local governments turn a blind eye on industrial companies that produce wastes, and therefore the problem of pollution has been hard to solve. Some media made comments about environmental protection in China “one party controls, when other parties destroy; controls on the points, destruction on the surface”.
The economy in China has developed, but the environment has been polluted. The contradictions have been obvious. The environmental pollution has influenced China negatively. The environmental protection experts stated that if Chinese government keeps ignore environmental protection, the homeland will be destroyed. A government should not only pursues economical benefits, but also pay attention to environmental protection based on scientific rules.
