Wang, Baoqun: Everybody has the right of free speech

The purpose of Chinese government’s monitoring internet is to limit Chinese people’s free speech. The Chinese government doesn’t allow people to express a different opinion, nor allow them to expose problems. Due to the fast development of internet that gives Chinese people a platform of free speech, in order to protect its dictatorship, the Chinese government applies strict evaluation and monitoring of internet and controls all vocabulary of “democracy” and “liberty”, and criticisms of the Chinese government and the officials. If anybody breaks the regulation, he or she will be arrested under the charge of “Undermining social stability”.
Everybody should speak freely and express their opinions freely so that they could live a normal life. If a person is limited to speaking, then he or she will lose the basic condition of living a normal life.
Freedom of speech is a major component of human rights; everybody has the right of free speech. The right shouldn’t be intervened by anyone under any excuse; in modern civilized society, people shouldn’t be forced to not speak. Freedom of speech can only be protected and a harmonious society with basic human rights can only be established when people can express themselves under the justified, fair and equal condition.
