Xiao, Junge: The root of serious corruption in China lies in the system
肖俊阁(Xiao,Junge)
Ordinary Chinese people at the bottom of Chinese society don’t demand too much for life. They hope that their country and government can do real things for people; government officials can be clean and not corruptive. Since people don’t have power, or privilege, in corruptive China, ordinary people’s efforts are not respected and there are no fair and justified returns for their efforts.
Although ordinary people are from a humble origin, they must have basic human rights. They don’t expect too much for their own future. However, people hate government officials’ corruptive behavior, they hope to have the right to expose the corruption issue and expect the government to punish corruptive government officials.
Thousands of corruption issues have occurred during various dictating regimes in Chinese history. Some corruption cases are so serious that they are recorded and passed on to future generations. As of today, China’s open policy has provided opportunities for Chinese communist government officials. Many high-level government officials’ grey income has increased exponentially. Number of various corruption cases has increased. This is the mistake of flawed Chinese political system. Chinese government can’t restrict serious corruption issue, since the problem lies in the system. There is hope for China only when the current social system is reformed.
