Xiao, Junge: Free speech is basic human right

For the past over 60 years, Chinese people have no free speech. The government doesn’t allow people to comment the government, let alone criticize the government and government officials. The Chinese government thinks that free speech is not helpful to state stability and people’s union. Anybody who doesn’t obey will be charged under “disrupting social order” or arrested and imprisoned under the charge of “damaging state security”.
When a person’s speech is suppressed, there is no freedom of speech, people will start to lie. Free speech is basic human right. People will have the right to freely express themselves and speak. This is the right that cannot be deprived of. People should have the right of free speech, to criticize the government and poor-performing government officials.
The Chinese government must allow free speech so that people will have the right of free speech and understand democracy, liberty, human rights and constitutionality and that China will be developed towards civilization and progress.
