In the past several months, the official newspaper and TV station under the control of the Chinese government significantly celebrated the fact that GDP of China exceeded that of Japan; however this second place of gross domestic product has brought very limited benefits to the Chinese people. Corruptive government officials, unfair society, collapsed morality and serious environmental protection have become real social problems. What benefits has this compliment of prosperity brought to people? Government officials have embezzled millions, even billions and transferred to overseas. This prosperity has benefited government officials. It is the people that are still living in poverty.
Take a look at the environment in China today. The economy has developed, but the ecological environment is deteriorating. Air, land, forest, rivers, lakes, and underground water has all been polluted and damaged. In some seriously polluted areas, there are more cancer villages and the birth rate of deformed babies is exponentially increasing.
The environmental problems in China have become more obvious. In order to pursue high efficiency of economy, the Chinese government has reduced environmental protection methods, which has caused the deteriorating environmental issues and made China the most polluted country and region in the world. The Chinese government must strictly enforce environmental protection, realized effective ways of energy savings, pollution reductions and technology improvement so that the environment can be protected to the maxim.
