Liu, Yongbin: The Chinese government shouldn’t exclude political reforms
刘用斌(Liu,Yongbin)
For a long term, the Chinese government has bragged about how developed the economy is, how rich the people are, how improved the human rights is and arrogantly think they are the dictators of the world. Many government officials believe that China is the center of the world. Although the economy has been improving, human rights situation is deteriorating. Compared with other democratic countries in the world, human rights situation in China is rather underdeveloped.
Currently, human rights problems in China are mainly systematic problems. Economic reforms have definitely encountered political problems and political problems are certainly related to human rights problems. Whenever human rights problems occur, the Chinese government officials will not talk about principles. When the social system is restricting economic development, the government is not willing to carry out social and political reforms. Human rights situation in China won’t be improved when there are no systematic and political reforms.
When there is no good social system in a country, lies and mistrust will sweep the society and government and government officials will trample people’s basic human rights. Therefore, the Chinese government should not exclude political reforms.
