Yang, Xiaoxian: We should not let the environment to keep deteriorating

Since the reforms in China, due to the inaccurate policies and weak executions, the environment is deteriorating. The over-exploitation of resources and economic development has caused a series of ecological crisis: the glaciers have retreated, rivers are drying up, grassland has degraded, wetlands have decreased, desertification has expanded, and species are decreasing; garbage is piling up like mountains. The most impressive thing is no matter where you go, the air is pungent, water smells and there are toxic elements in rice and vegetables.
The current environmental pollution in China has caught global attention. The more developed the economy in China is, the more serious the environmental pollution is. China is a developed and populated country. And as the government of China, it should be responsible for the environment. We hope that the Chinese government should carry out legislation of environmental protection, and become people-oriented and execute the scientific concept of environmental protection, promote all people to protect the environment and execute the responsibilities of environmental protection as a powerful country.
