Li, Lanfang: Improving human rights situation in China with real action
李兰芳(Li,Lanfang)
Chinese people don’t have basic human rights, workers are laid off, and farmers lose their farmland; children can’t afford to go to school, and the elderly can’t afford to see the doctors; many people are discontent with the government and don’t quite agree with governmental policies, but they are not allowed to express their opinions, let alone criticize the government or government officials. People are living in poverty.
As of today, Chinese communist government officials have the state power and have been corruptive, bullying and suppressing people. They also require people to conform to the government. If people protest, go to petitions, or protect their rights, they will be arrested, persecuted to injuries, disabilities or even death.
People still remember clearly that the Chinese government promised to improve human rights during 2008 Olympics. It’s been 3 years since Beijing Olympics, how is the human rights situation in China now? All kinds of persecution still continue and are deteriorating. The Chinese government hasn’t made any real progress on human rights improvement. This has shocked the global society. We require the Chinese government to start the human rights dialogue with people and improve human rights situation in China with real action.
