Wang, Ruijin: The realization of democratic system in China is good for anti-corruption
王瑞金(Wang, Ruijin)
At present one party is in power in China and it lacks of independent legal supervision system, so the power of government and officials outmatches laws. People can’t supervise or charge of the illegal actions of government and officials, because if someone does it, it will be regarded as treachery; court and government are one family originally, and you may be labeled a crime of “harm social stability” if mindless.
Chinese government tries to prevent the spread of corruption, but due to the number of the corruptive officials is so big, if investigating thoroughly, a great number of officials will be involved, even some politicians. So operating it actually may influence the stability of CCP authority. Although government of CCP has declared to consolidate the potency dimension of anti-corruption and attack the phenomenon of officials’ corruption for several times, the excess of potency dimension of anti-corruption may endanger the safety of CCP authority and have negative effects on the reputation and image of CCP authority.
Since several decades of reform and open of Chinese economics, the phenomenon of corruption in Chinese government is becoming serious increasingly; among some officials, who calls for anti-corruption the most usually is the degenerate related to the biggest amount of money. Some ordinary people say that the result of government’s anti-corruption is often more and more serious corruption than before.
It’s necessary to consummate the oversight mechanism, especially improving the power of oversight mechanism; practice the independence of justice and carry out government by law to make officials run their power correctly, but there must be a security of a democratic and free social system to complete all of it. So it’s necessary to implement democratic political reform in China.
