For hundreds of millions of Chinese, the persecution of Falun Gong will mostly be remembered as the most systematic, deadly, and protracted assault on Chinese citizens in the past decades. Although Falun Gong does not espouse any political ideology, it is considered a threat to the CCP.

Thus, in the spring of 1999, former President of China single-handedly decided that Falun Gong must be “eradicated.” In July, 1999, mass imprisonment and coercive brain-washing of Falun Gong practitioners was initiated. The consequences of this decision have been devastating. Hundreds of thousands—possibly millions—of innocent Falun Gong practitioners have been abducted from their homes or off the street, and some were illegally jailed for over a decade. A religious belief was cruelly persecuted and killed for its popularity by an individual’s will. This is indeed an extreme crime of anti-humane and anti-human rights.

There is no way to hold back the lives of Falun Gong practioners or to safeguard the right to freedom of religion no matter how I denounce now. I still hope that along with the development of democracy course of China, such large-scale massacre will not happen again.
