Li, Guohua: Appeal Chinese government to practice conversation on human rights with people

China is an economic giant and a country with huge population in the world. There is matter of human rights in this country with huge population; before the Olympic Games in 2008, Chinese government wished to the status of big-power country internationally, promising to make use of the chance of holding Olympic Games to improve the condition of human rights and investing so much to build Olympic Arena and also looked forward to showing Chinese prestige and richness by luxurious opening and closing ceremonies.
The government paid so much for biding, preparing and holding Olympic Games and the process showed the power of money. Many Chinese people have opinions on it and criticized that government didn’t save the money of taxpayer.
Chinese government didn’t take correct advices, not allowing people to criticize government and depriving people’s freedom of speeches, and Chinese government didn’t realize the promise of improving human rights and continued to arrest and supervise dissidents, activists, religionists and CDP members. The situation of human rights in China has not been improved and gone on worse. Therefore, we appeal Chinese government to practice conversation on human rights with people and set up a basic platform on human rights’ conversation to improve the situation of human rights in China in fact.
