Chen, Baozhi: Freedom of speeches is the basis of democratic reform

In present China, democratic freedom is a new system for CCP’s autocracy; Democratic freedom needs the involvement of people and supervision of power. Democratic free system is a kind of system approved by most countries in the long-term exploration of human being’s civilization process and it can not only promise people’s ultimate involvement in public affairs, at the same time also definite permission of various power holders. Besides, make sure power holders are supervised to avoid someone or minority obtaining sovereignty of “decision”and it is democratic system.
Democratic freedom that we think usually is parliament and election; in fact, if there is no perfect mechanism, simple election can’t express people’s willing, with various disadvantages, and there are lots of examples related to it. The necessary component of democratic system is laws and freedom of speeches.
Normal people don’t have the right of freedom of speech at present in China and government doesn’t allow people to express any opinions, have negative thoughts and criticize government and officials; It shows that in order to promote democratic political system reform effectively in China, the right of freedom of speeches should be guaranteed at first.
