Zheng, Xiaolu: Chinese government neglects work of environmental protection for a long time

Serious environmental pollution is always threatening people’s health and lives in China, and air pollution is the matter of pollution, which influences people most directly; pollution source is the waste gas from industrial factories, automotive vehicles and so on, and there are lots of people suffering illness of respiratory organ and visual organ due to contact of polluted air. At the same time, water pollution, food pollution, noise pollution and so on damage people’s health directly and destroy environment. But Chinese government disregards matter of environmental pollution and neglect work of environmental protection for a long time, which causes quality of environment in China become low and has disadvantages of Chinese people’s health, Chinese sustainable development and local ecological balance.
Chinese government should strengthen emission reduction of major pollutants, consolidate environmental law enforcement supervision, develop environmental industry, value work of environmental protection in area with quick development of economics and serious pollution and strengthen ecological protection.
China can’t pay bigger price in the label of economical development any longer. Government must strengthen environmental law enforcement, train people’s environmental awareness in spite of governmental supervision, and support nongovernmental organ of environmental protection. The most important is that Chinese society needs reform and a social system with democracy, freedom and laws is the fundamental of environmental protection.
