Improving Human Rights is an Important Job of Chinese Government
Zhang, Yong
Chinese government, ruling party and all officials always ignore law and abuse people, infringing upon their human rights. For so many years, such case as infringement on human rights is omnipresent, dissidents being arrested and imprisoned, complainers being chased away, beaten and even imprisoned. It turned out that there is no human right in Chinese society.
Chinese human rights condition is problematic, which is in stark contrast to the Harmonious Society proposed by government. Chinese government steps on human rights. It is a government ruled by people rather than law. If a country exists frequent human right infringement, it is called by United Nations as Country with Bad Human Right Record. According to the current human right condition in Chinese society, China can be ranked among the above mentioned countries with bad human right condition.
If a person is deprived of its basic human right, he has no dignity or basic protection. Each Chinese is entitled many rights by constitution, among which the most basic is human right. However, in such a people-ruled country as China, constitution exists only in text. When Chinese government and officials are executing their powers, they can violate people human rights at their disposal. Chinese has no human rights whatsoever. A part of Chinese people has no understanding of the concept of human right. They don’t understand that human rights is the basic right people are born with, let alone how to strive for it. Hence, it is a long journey to improve human rights condition in China, which is also an important job for Chinese government.
