Yang,Li: Anti-corruption has to be tackled from system
杨莉(Yang,Li)
As a government official, it is required to be honest. Maybe this can be achieved in a short time, but the problem is whether this can be persisted for a long time. It is tested by facts that in China, many officials can not be honest and disciplined for a long time, emerging batches after batches of corruptive officials. They are more corruptive than one another, taking more bribes than another, with the biggest population of corruptive officials in the world. Why exists such situation?
The problem roots in the corruptive autocracy system in China, under which officials are not restrained by law, hence everyone has the chance to take bribes and embezzle. Once the officials have the power at hand, they can trade them for money or materials.
Chinese government has to reform the autocratic system, and realize democracy and freedom so that corruption can be abolished from the root, which is the key to the success of China’s crackdown on corruption. Only on this basis, then government advocate integrity and discipline can make sure the effectiveness of China’s crackdown on corruption.
