Luo, Haiwen: one party dictatorship is the root source of corruption

It has been many years since the Chinese Communist Party putting forward the issue of combating corruption and building a clean government; the reason why the corruption issue in China still has not been fixed, but rather worsened is the Chinese Communist Party’s one-party dictatorship.
The political system of one-party dictatorship behaves without any concern about laws and lacks enough supervision; the officials from the Chinese Communist Party have adequate power to make decisions for everything. Nowadays in China, to some extent one has everything if he has power. In order to gain interests, all levels of officials collaborate with each others; utilize their public power to earn their personal interests with no regard of ordinary people’s lives. The majority civilian people are living in extreme misery; they have no rights of congregation or freedom of speech, which is supposed to be the basic rights. They can go nowhere to make complaints. Appealing to higher authorities for help never end up with success; what’s more, those who make complaints are always persecuted by the CCP. People are longing for a respectable official to speak for them and make some changes to the current corrupt political environment and living circumstances. Yet under the Chinese Regime’s one-party dictatorship, people’s wish for freedom and democracy can hardly be fulfilled. Newly appointed officials have privileges under the one-party dictatorship, thus it is quite difficult for them to behave themselves, and as time passes by, they gradually inherit their predecessors’ habits of corruption and embezzlement, and get even worse. Consequently the current wicked social phenomenon of “high rank officials embezzle a lot; low level officials embezzle a little; no official can survive without embezzlement” appears.
The Chinese Communist Party invested tremendously to the campaign of anti-corruption and anti-embezzlement, and punished a bunch of corrupted low-rank and high-rank officials, yet the outcome is unpromising and the corruption issue is getting worse. The therapy method of anti-corruption of the Chinese Communist Party belongs to the kind of “old bottle filled with new wine; old medicine with a new soup”, which can do nothing but ease the symptoms a little bit. Therefore, it cannot eradicate the corruption problem from the root. The one-party dictatorship is the evil source of corruption, and only by changing the current political system can we put an end to the dictatorship of Chinese Communist Party, and corruption can finally disappear.
