Sun, Lin: A government should have education accessible for every child
孙琳(Sun,Lin)
China is a populous country in the world; attaching great importance to the development and investment of education system is beneficial to improve people’s cultural quality, to promote the economic and cultural development of China, also is good for China to exalt China’s international status. The Chinese government has claimed that they put great emphasis on education, yet sixty years passed, the education system implemented by Chinese government always fail to follow the economic development; the economy in many places has improved a lot, whereas the education system there still lags far behind.
In the recent years, from the education administrative organizations to local schools, corruption has become a common phenomenon; many teachers are not very much concerned about their teaching job, and participate in some other activities to seek personal interest. They embezzle funds from the limited education fund, collect money from the textbooks’ fund, and also request money publicly from the students in the name of choosing an appropriate school. Many of the schools have become places where corrupt activities, such as power-money trade, happen; consequently, many schools cannot perform normal teaching schedules, cannot have the students receive compulsory education, and some children cannot even afford to pay for tuition and thus drop out. Countless facts have proved that Chinese government’s so-called "pay attention to education of development and input" has become almost bosh.
The Chinese people hate education corruption, they hope teachers could be positive examples of their students, and the government could truly put great effort in education, meanwhile, allow all children to have equal opportunity of education. Self-discipline is far from enough for the current education department. Reform of education system is necessary so that the goal of “developing China through education” can be achieved.
