Jiang, Feng: 22 Anniversary of June 4 Incident in 1989
姜峰(Jiang, Feng)
22 years have been passed since the June Incident, but every Chinese who experienced that event will not forget that day. in 1989, 22 years ago, followed by the protest in Beijing China which were led by the graduate students, hundreds of millions of citizens and students involved in the nationwide petitions. They protested against government corruption, collusion tight materials reselling and requested the political reform.
Sadly, the protest was repressed by the army which was led by Chinese government. A troop armed with tanks, armored vehicles and heavily armed soldiers controlled Tian’an Square in the morning of June 4th and conflicted with the citizens and students. During the dark day, hundreds of people were killed and thousands were wounded. This so-called June 4 Incident shocked the world. Now history still reminds us even if 22 years have passed.
Today we gather together to remember that day, to find out the truth, to call on the responsibility of Chinese government. We fight for freedom of speech, freedom of internet. We expect the democracy, freedom, human right and regulation in the near future.
