The human rights situation in China has always been a great concern of the international community; the Chinese government has performed a long-term show for for their human rights issues; once upon a time, during the period of the Beijing Olympics in 2008, the human rights situation was improved, however, it was not solved from the bottom; it has been several decades since the reform and opening up policy, and the economy has improved a lot, yet the basic human rights situation does not have a substantial improvement.
The Chinese people have no right to elect government officials; the government officials come into office not by the election of people, but appointed by the upper level officials. Under such circumstances, China can never have a system that respect and protect human rights. For years, the Chinese people do not have the freedom of speech, faith, association and freedom of assembly. That is an important reason why the human rights situation in China has not been improved. The Chinese government has to improve the human rights situations as demanded by the Chinese people; the government should also perform political reform, and make the political system meet the needs of protection for basic human rights. Therefore, the aim of this political reform is to establish a democratic political system with freedom, which is the fundamental to protect people’s basic human rights.
