Liu Funan: Supervising the Powers is a Way to Solve Corruption
刘福男 (Liu, Funan)
The Chinese people abominate the corrupt government as well as the officials. Corruption is not only damaging social morals, violating equality and justice, but also increasing the Chinese people’s economic burden and the cost of living. In addition to that, corruption will make changes in the potential rules of the official circles, and further the money culture of the official relations.
Corruption, primarily happens on the Chinese officials, from the higher authorities to the subordinate officials, everyone get involved in corruption and bribery. The officials’ power and position are directly connected with corruption. The higher-rank position or the more power an official holds, the more money he could get, and the bigger corrupt cases he could be involved in.
In order to quell the popular indignation, the Chinese government announced that it would give strict punishment to the corrupt officials, and promised that it would fight against corruption with no mercy, thus some corrupt officials were tormented and punished. In fact, the real purpose of the Chinese government’s measures to corruption is for alleviating social contradiction, and continuing its autocratic rule. Since the Chinese Communist Party’s one-party despotism is a corrupt system, it won’t radically resolve the corrupt phenomenon. The only way to solve corruption is to make the powers accepted legal supervision, establish certain organs for supervising powers, and set up an anti-corruption system on a basis of laws.
