Geng, Cuiqing: The China Government Must Do Its Duty to Protect Environment
耿翠青(Geng, Cuiqing)
In recent years, the growing number of countries and regions attending United Nations Climate Change Conference reflects each country pays more attention on environmental protection. The United Nations Climate Change Conference aims to set environmental targets that observed by all countries. The targets include cutting down greenhouse gas discharge, dealing with global warming problem, etc. The conference intends to let all countries make joint efforts to protect environment, and make contributions to environmental preservation.
In present world, China's economy is growing with the fastest speed, but it lags far behind other countries in the field of environmental protection. The Chinese economic reform develops economy, but neglects the works regarding environmental protection. The environment in some Chinese areas is further deteriorating owing to a shortage of preventive measures.
As for the severe problem about environmental pollution, the Chinese government has already recognized the seriousness of the problem, but it still lacks investment to environmental preservation, rigorous legislation and law enforcement. We appeal to the Chinese government for its active cooperation with the international society, and call on the Chinese government to do its duty to protect environment.
