For many years, the speed of China’s economic advancement has been remaining high. You can see factories, mines, and construction sites everywhere in this country. Many rural areas near the cities give up traditional farming, and develop into industry. Although people’s living standard has had a perceptible improvement, the environmental pollution has been getting worse.
The Chinese government simply pursues the high speed of economic development, and ignores work regarding environmental preservation, and lacks enough funds invested in environmental protection. Nowadays, for the sake of economic profits, quite a few enterprises do not abide by the environmental protection law, discretionarily discharge waste gas, sewage, and discard solid waste or residue. Also, the government does not place enough importance on the propaganda about environmental protection, which leads to a shortage of basic environmental knowledge among the public, many people are lacking in consciousness about environmental protection.
To attach importance to the work concerning environmental preservation will advance a sound development of Chinese society, bring benefit to human begins and our offspring. We appeal to the Chinese government to reinforce legislation and law enforcement of environmental preservation, and increase more investment in environmental preservation. We call on the entire people to protect the environment, and create a beauteous and clean environment.
