Li, Zhongxue: The Chinese Society Needs to Improve Moral Civilization
李钟学(Li,Zhongxue)
In today’s Chinese society, due to the hopeless government and corrupt officials, the entire society lost dignity and essential credit. Many areas are lacking in moral civilization, government officials can optionally use people’s property, exchange national interests for money. As a government, it shelters those officials in disguise rather than severely punish them.
Lies are prevalent in the Chinese society. Both the government officials and the people only emphasize interests, and abandon morality, conscience, and sense of honor. What other vital things they discard is law, credit, and principles. Is there virtue still existing in the society? Are the people living with dignity? Where is the law?
For a country and a society, moral civilization ensures normal social order, apart from that, it is the soul of creating a stable and harmonious society. Today’s China needs the government to energetically advocate virtue and propaganda civilization. When exercise of powers, the government and officials should bear morality and civilization in mind, and strictly abide by laws. Only by this way could they actually serve the public, and will the Chinese society move towards civilization.
