A clean environment is the most fundamental condition for human begins to live. If the environment is vandalized, which means the condition for human begins to live is also undermined. At present, the ecological environment of our earth is increasingly deteriorating, what makes the most profound effects on us is the polluted water resource, contaminated air, and unsafe food, etc.
For years, the Chinese government has been beset by the alarming problem of environmental pollution, the air quality of Chinese areas frequently send the alarm, most of the water resources are polluted in varying degrees, and food safety is also lacking in a security system. Between all the environmental problems and the Chinese government’s long-term policy of taking economic development as the center, there is causal relation. The government places importance on economic construction, but neglects proper environmental protection. Statistics show that one third of the air of Chinese urban areas has been polluted gravely; one quarter of the water for living and drinking does not meet the hygienic standards.
If the extend of the damage on the environment goes on developing at the present speed, then the heavy losses caused by environmental pollution will outstrip economic returns. Here, I remind the Chinese government that economic development will enhance national power, and improve the people’s living standard, synchronously, great importance should be attached to environmental preservation, environmental protection policy need improvement, and more funds should be invested in environmental protection.
