Wang, Qiang: The Chinese government should take the responsibility and obligation in protecting environment
王强(Wang,Qiang)
Officials at all levels of the Chinese government are ambitious for great achievements, they regard “industrial output” as “political achievements” in a one-side perspective. They have long been pursuing industrial output, and ignoring the environmental protection. The industrial output has multiplied up, and the economic benefits have increased significantly, while the environment has been seriously damaged. The water, the air, and the natural environment are increasingly deteriorating.
Many areas are facing the significant problem of environmental pollution. China has built up a head over other most environmentally polluted countries. The Chinese government advocates “all is for economic growth” that is the cause of environmental pollution. “Getting rich first”, a well-known policy in China, results in environmental pollution. Not only does the alarming environmental pollution endanger the country, but also bring disaster to neighboring countries and the global environmental safety.
As the world’s most populous country and the most economically developing country, the Chinese government should take the responsibility and obligation in protecting environment. It should solve the pollution problem, increase investment in environmental protection, and make contributions to environment of this region.
