Chao,Yongjun: Let the Chinese People Have the Right of Freedom of Speech

The current Chinese government does not give much space on the aspect of freedom of speech. People do not have the right of freedom of speech; especially for ordinary people, they cannot talk freely. In public places, nobody is allowed to talk bad words of government. People’s speeches are extremely limited on the topics of the ineffective government and the official corruption.
But in a society with democratic government, people are allowed to talk and express their views freely in anywhere, at anytime. They can openly criticize their own government, high officials, and even the president. It would also be fine that people go to the government to protest, asking the government to solve the problems they care the most.
The root reason of China’s problem is autocracy. Only promoting the reform of China’s social system can people enjoy the right of freedom of speech, can the Chinese society towards civilization and progress. It would be good to let the Chinese people understand, analyze and think about social issues, government’s ruling problems and government officials’ problems. People can communicate with each other, discuss and express these heat topics without any suppression and interference. Thus, the freedom of thoughts and press, the freedom of speech is the only way to promoting China’s civilization.
