It has been a long time since the Chinese government take its first trample on human rights. The most serious one is the armed suppression of the Pro-democracy Movement in 1989, massacring students and the public. The Chinese government has created a gruesome tragedy. Though the massacre is launched by the Chinese Communist government, in fact, it is caused by the autocratic regime which is against human rights and civilization. Therefore, the only way to improve human rights situation in China is to reform the political system of the Chinese Communist one-party dictatorship.
The Chinese government claims to be people’s government, and the government that is only for people, but the power of the government is not under the constraints of the law and the supervision of people. Though the Chinese constitution refers that citizens’ personal freedom is inviolable, the provision is not completed and adequacy. Meanwhile, there are plenty of events breaking laws, which make people’s basic human rights not being guaranteed.
The government should take no hesitation to reform the human rights, establishing the concept that human rights is greater than any other modern civilization idea. The government has to respect and protect human rights, making a good beginning of it, like giving up violence, stopping persecution, opening the freedom of speech and press, releasing detained political dissidents and imprisoned Democrats. The Chinese government has to take substantial action to improve the human rights situation there.
