Sixty years ago, on December 10, 1948, the United Nations passed and issued Universal Declaration of Human Rights, advocating basic human rights, human dignity and fundamental freedoms. More and more countries around the world begin to respect, recognize and implement this declaration effectively. Human rights, freedom, equality, fraternity and the dignity of human being have become the measurement of whether a country is developing or not and people’s living standard is high or not.
However, it has been 63 years since the UN first issued Universal Declaration of Human Rights, the human rights situation in China still remains the same. All levels of governments and officials repeatedly against the basic human rights of activists, dissidents and religious people. In particular, they arrest many Chinese Democrats and put them in prison. The human rights situation in China gets the high attention from international society and human rights organizations.
We call upon the Chinese government to abide by Universal Declaration of Human Rights. The human rights situation has to be improved in this country with large population. The government should show its sincerity, renounce violence and stop persecution to dissidents. Gradually push China to be a country with democracy, freedom, human rights and the rule of law, letting all the Chinese people enjoy freedom and human rights.
