Li,Xiaping: China’s Economy Has Developed, Meanwhile the Environment is Deteriorating

China is one of the countries with ancient civilization among the whole world. Its territory is very broad, and has a long history. China has the highest mountain, pristine glaciers and vast grassland. For many years, in order to develop economy, Chinese government has neglected environment protection, destroying forests, polluting water and trampling the whole nature. Today, China’s economy has developed, meanwhile the environment is deteriorating. Many areas in China have had a lot of natural disasters, like droughts, floods, landslides and mudslides.
The environmental pollution in China is not only harmful to the sustainable development of one region and people’s lives, but is also harmful to the whole environment, becoming a threat to the whole world. The United Nations environment protection committee and the international environmental protection organization ask Chinese government to pay more attention on environmental protection. The Chinese government has to take specific environmental actions. First, it has to increase the capital investment in environmental protection; second, the government has to do environmental advocacy; third, the enforcement of law has to be very strict, being truly useful to the environmental protection.
