Li,Ming: The Chinese Society have to Achieve Rule of Law
The Chinese government has advocated establishing a just, peaceful and rich society, but such a society is built on the foundation of rule of law. Under the rule of law, the society can be stable, political civilization and people’s living standards can improve, and people can fully express their rights. Meanwhile, a just, peaceful and rich society should absorb different political voices, and can really accept different parties and groups who hold different political voices.
Today, there are still many dissidents detained in prison. Many petitioners are still
being deported and persecuted; ordinary people do not have basic human rights, do
not have freedom of speech. All these violate the concept of a just, peaceful and rich
society. Therefore, a basic condition for Chinese government to establish a just,
peaceful and rich society is to release the imprisoned dissidents, allow people to
petition, improve the human rights, achieving rule of law.
In today’s modern society, people’s body and life, rights and freedom, spirit and
dignity are the basic values that the human civilization need to defend. Only rule of
law can respect and defend these values. It is also the standard for China to establish a
just, peaceful and rich society.
