Li, Ming: Only Rely on a Democratic System, Can Anti-corruption be Successful
Today’s Chinese government officials are not the same as before. When the Chinese Communist party just got the power, the county was not rich, the people were in poverty, but that time the officials could work hard, do some practical work and have self-discipline. There were seldom corruption problems. But today everything is different. The economy is developed, the society is rich, and because of the social system, the power in the hand of officials is not restricted by law and people’s supervision, which lead to a serious corruption problem.
In recent years, the Chinese government takes a severe anti-corruption action. But the result is not good. Though there are many government officials have been punished, the officials involved use variety ways to get away, from one person to all the officials involved in corruption. In China, the law always does not punish the most, which lead to the officials become more and more corrupted.
The anti-corruption system in China is constantly updated. Despite the establishment of independent anti-corruption agencies, and a complete anti-corruption system, there are still differences between system and reality, so the anti-corruption is only a formal method. The reason to catch several corrupted government officials and punish them severely is just to show to the public. The facts prove that the only way to achieve anti-corruption is to rely on a democracy system.
